The Minister of Minerals, Mr. Nour Al-Dam Taha, stressed the commitment of the ministry to protect the rights of local communities in the areas of mining production, and maximize the proceeds of social responsibility, and ensure access to the beneficiaries in a transparent and fair manner, stressing that there is no tendency to reduce these rights or detract from them.

In a letter to the communities in the production areas, Taha said that the rights of social responsibility are guaranteed by the law and the agreements signed between the Ministry of Minerals and mining companies, and distributed in accordance with resolution No. 90, stressing that these rights are inherent and not granted by any party, and should not be an area for political and media bids.

The minister explained that the ministry is working to direct the proceeds of social responsibility towards the implementation of concrete development projects, which contribute to improving services, creating jobs and developing infrastructure, as well as protecting the environment and promoting health and safety in production areas.

Taha stressed that local communities are an integral partner in development, and they have the right to reflect the revenues of mineral resources on the reality of citizens and the future of their children, pointing out that the ministry's commitment to these communities goes beyond the legal duty to a national and moral responsibility.

He stressed the continuation of work to enhance transparency and justice, and strengthen the partnership between the ministry and mining companies and local communities, which contributes to achieving balanced and sustainable development in the production areas.

The Minister of Minerals concluded his message by stressing that the real value of mineral wealth is not measured by the volume of production alone, but by the extent to which it contributes to improving the lives of citizens and achieving a positive and sustainable impact, and the return it leaves for future generations.
