The Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Prof. Ahmed Al-Tajani Al-Mansouri, called for the creation of animal and food products that are competitive in global markets, and to take advantage of the resources and potential of Sudan to promote national exports and open new foreign markets.

Addressing the celebration of World Food Day, organized by the Faculty of Family Sciences and Community Development and the Faculty of Production Technology and Agro-Industry of the World University of Africa, Al Mansouri said on Sunday under the theme "Today's innovation for tomorrow's food", that the economic challenges and the high costs of transport, insurance and fuel prices in global markets necessitate the need to expand innovation and production.

He pointed to the opportunities offered by Sudan to export products at competitive prices, calling for the provision of quality and innovative goods that are not available in the target markets, thus contributing to meeting external demand and taking advantage of the opportunities available in the global markets.

The Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries called on the International University of Africa to contribute to the establishment of a city for animal production, in addition to paying attention to quality standards and continuous follow-up, in order to enhance the efficiency of production and support the development of animal and food products.

Al-Mansouri pointed to the existence of agreements with the Agricultural Bank, Al-Balad Bank and Omdurman National Bank, to serve professors and workers in the fields of teaching and community service.

The call comes within the framework of developing animal and food production and enhancing the added value of Sudanese products, which enhances their competitiveness in foreign markets and contributes to the development of national exports.
