The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Ahmed Mudawi Musa, said that the war has caused great destruction in higher education institutions and research centers in Sudan, as well as the displacement of scientists and teachers.

This came as he addressed the opening session of the international forum on “The cost of lost knowledge and the restoration of scientific activities in crisis-affected countries”, which was held today at the International University of Africa in Khartoum.

The minister explained that the ministry has developed an early strategic plan for reconstruction and reform, to be a road map for the construction of post-war Sudan and the creation of an effective and productive educational environment, stressing that science does not wait.

He pointed out that the plan includes the establishment of specialized research centers distributed among the states, in order to find scientific solutions to the country's problems and support national development plans.

Mudawi stressed that Sudan is counting on the forum, which includes experts from within the country and international institutions, to contribute to the reconstruction and development of scientific research and knowledge, expressing his hope that its outputs will achieve the desired goals.

The minister paid tribute to the armed forces and the forces supporting them, praising their sacrifices that allow the Sudanese to hold such events in Khartoum.
