The Committee of Hope for Voluntary Return announced the start of evacuating 9,000 Sudanese citizens from Libya to the country next week, in addition to resuming return flights from the cities of Alexandria and Ajami in Egypt, through the operation of seven buses.

The head of the committee, Eng. Mohammed Daida, said in a press statement today that the current congestion is due to the large increase in the numbers of returnees, especially state employees and their families, as well as students of public and higher education.

He explained that the committee has assigned priority in the travel arrangements for humanitarian cases, which include the wounded, the sick and the elderly, taking into account their health and humanitarian conditions, pointing out that the trips today included the evacuating of a large group of men and sheikhs of the Sufi roads.

He stressed the continuation of the organization of return trips in order to accommodate all citizens registered in the Committee's statements, calling on travelers to abide by the directives on the weight of luggage and personal loads.

He pointed out that the observance of the specified weights contributes to reducing the congestion of crossings, and prevents the delay of buses at checkpoints and switchovers, which helps to flow trips and ensure the safe arrival of returnees to the country.
