The Ministry of Energy and Oil confirmed the availability of fuel and flow of supply naturally to service stations, denying that the congestion experienced by some stations during the past days due to lack of supply.

The ministry pointed out that the alignment and congestion, especially in petrol stations, are due to several factors, including fluctuation and slowness in some banking applications, which led to the slow down of fuel purchases and the gradual accumulation of vehicles in front of service stations.

The ministry pointed out that geopolitical developments in the Bab al-Mandab Strait led to the disruption of the movement of oil tankers, high transport costs and maritime insurance, which was reflected in the delay in the arrival of some supplies and the high cost of some oil products.

These developments represent challenges beyond the control of the state, she said, stressing that it has taken a number of measures to bridge the gap and secure oil supply, and work to provide fuel at a relatively lower cost.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Oil, Engineer Ali Abdulrahman, said that the quantities of gasoline recently provided were subject to a number of technical, administrative and organizational measures in coordination with the state of Khartoum, before being paid for distribution to service stations in the state.

He pointed out that these procedures led to a relative delay in the flow of gasoline to some stations at the beginning of the week, stressing that the delay does not reflect a lack of supply, and that work is underway to address any delay urgently.

Abdulrahman added that the ministry is continuously following up the import, handling, deportation and distribution operations, to ensure regular access of fuel to service stations.

He explained that the Committee for the Regulation of Fuel Importation is working to regulate the flow of ships and quotas of companies according to the program of the Ministry of Energy and Oil, with strict control over the various stages of supply and distribution.

The Undersecretary revealed the work to complete the procedures for speeding up the issuance of fuel prices, taking into account the indicators of global prices and the cost of import and available potentials, in order to achieve the greatest possible stability in prices, and to ensure the continuation of sales and distribution on a regular basis and without interruption.

The Ministry of Energy and Oil reiterated that the provision of fuel and the stability of its supply and flow distribution is a key priority, noting that the competent authorities are working around the clock to ensure the arrival of oil products to service stations on a regular basis, to meet the needs of citizens and productive and service sectors in the country.
