The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the full respect of the Government of the Republic of Chad for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and integrity of its borders, reiterating Sudan's keenness to strengthen relations of brotherhood, good-neighbourliness and common interests between the two brotherly peoples.
The Ministry expressed surprise at the issuance of positions that categorically attributed responsibility to the Sudanese Armed Forces, before a professional and independent investigation to verify the circumstances of the incident and determine responsibilities.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that the Sudanese Armed Forces are fulfilling their constitutional duty to defend the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of the country and address the threats targeting Sudan.
In the same context, the ministry expressed surprise at what it described as silence towards the daily attacks carried out by drones from inside Ethiopian territory against targets inside Sudan, noting that the most recent attacks took place this morning.
The Foreign Ministry stressed that Sudan has “evidence and conclusive evidence” of these repeated attacks, at a time when the government reiterated its position calling for objective and independent verification before making accusations or holding any party responsible for the events.
