The head of the Democratic Alliance for Social Justice, Mubarak Ardol, said that he held a meeting at the French Foreign Ministry with a number of French officials, including the Director of the Africa and Indian Ocean Department, Emmanuel Bateman, the French envoy to Sudan, Ambassador Jean-Marie Safa, Deputy Director of the Department, Caspio Vienne, and Mr. Arnold.

Ardol explained that the meeting dealt with the developments of the political process in Sudan, the role that France can play independently, as well as its role through the European Union as one of the parties to the five-year mechanism.

He pointed out that the talks also touched on the humanitarian situation in Sudan, the need to intensify efforts to stop the war, as well as reconstruction arrangements, and the continuation of French efforts in this regard, and initiatives related to Sudan's debt forgiveness.

France can play a pivotal role in supporting peace and stability in Sudan, individually and in coordination with its Security Council partners and the European Union.

On behalf of the Democratic Alliance for Social Justice, he welcomed the new French envoy to Sudan and invited him to visit Khartoum and meet with various Sudanese forces.

The coalition, in coordination with its allies in the Democratic Bloc, will continue to actively participate in the political process, supporting the establishment of a civilian leadership, an inclusive Sudanese dialogue, efforts to stop the war, reconstruction, democratic transition, and a sustainable peace in Sudan.
