Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council Receives Credentials of New Italian Ambassador

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, received today at the Presidential Palace the credentials of Silvio Mignano, Ambassador and Commissioner of the Republic of Italy to Sudan, in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohieddin Salem.

Al-Burhan welcomed the new Italian ambassador, wishing him success in the performance of his duties, and the bilateral relations between Sudan and Italy further development and prosperity.

In a press statement after the meeting, the Italian ambassador stressed his country's determination to continue working for a united, peaceful and prosperous Sudan, stressing Italy's position in support of the Sudanese people, saying: "Italy will always be on the side of the Sudanese people."
