The Chinese side stressed the importance of developing practical mechanisms for cooperation and implementing priority projects, proposing to organize a field visit to Sudan to assess the current situation and determine the actual needs.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Environment and Natural Resources, Mr. Sulaiman Al-Boni, said that the Sudanese side proposed to prepare a joint memorandum of understanding identifying areas of cooperation and mechanisms of implementation, and that the field visit will conclude with the identification of priority projects in preparation for requesting the necessary funding for their implementation.

The two sides agreed to continue consultations and coordination to support Sudan’s efforts in restoring ecosystems and promoting sustainable development paths.
