The Prime Minister, Professor Kamel Idris, announced a package of decisions and directives aimed at alleviating the burden of living and encouraging the voluntary return of citizens, including exemptions in the water and solar sectors, as well as measures to expand the sale.

The Prime Minister decided to exempt all citizens from water fees for the residential sector until the end of the year 2026, directing at the same time to improve the water supply and add new plants.

He also announced the exemption of all solar energy systems imported for personal use from customs, taxes and all other government fees, and directed the ministries of finance, human resources and social welfare and the Central Bank of Sudan to facilitate concessional financing to enable citizens to acquire solar energy systems for personal use.

He directed the activation and control of centers and markets of sale across the country, in coordination between the governors of the provinces and the governors of the states and relevant authorities, which contributes to reducing the burden of living on citizens.

The decisions came after an expanded meeting chaired by the Prime Minister in Khartoum, with the participation of the ministers of industry, trade, energy and minerals, the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism, and the First Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan.
