Khartoum has completed its comprehensive arrangements for the development and rehabilitation of the airport street, as part of efforts to restore the civilized face of the capital, as one of the country's most prominent entrances and main facades.

The Executive Director of Khartoum Municipality, Abdel Moneim al-Bashir, conducted a field tour on the airport street accompanied by specialist teams, where he directed the removal of all visual distortions, environmental and engineering violations and obstacles along the road, in order to improve the overall appearance and increase the efficiency of services.

The directives included the implementation of asphalt maintenance, pavements, banks and central islands, the rehabilitation of light poles, as well as the attention to green spaces and parks, to enhance the aesthetic and environmental aspects of the road.

Al-Bashir also stressed the need to review billboards and traffic signs in coordination with the competent authorities, and to regulate commercial activities in line with the strategic importance of the airport street and maintain its privacy as a front for the capital.

The Executive Director of Khartoum Municipality stressed the importance of the immediate start of the implementation of the development and beautification work, explaining that this step comes in implementation of the directives of the Governor of Khartoum State, and within the framework of the work of the High Committee on the creation of an environment conducive to the return of citizens to Khartoum State.
