The Embassy of the Sudan in Berlin, together with UN agencies and international officials in Bonn, discussed the prospects of partnership and coordination to support the post-crisis phase and provide aids for community stability. This came during the participation of Ambassador Ilham Ibrahim Mohamed Ahmed in the high-level diplomatic meeting hosted by the United Nations organizations concerned with combating desertification and climate change, to present the Sudanese vision on the requirements of recovery and institutional rehabilitation.
The specialized meetings held by the ambassador with allied international organizations reviewed the mechanisms of activating direct technical support packages to upgrade water lines and basic services in the states. The talks also aimed to maximize the use of United Nations volunteer programs and UNESCO professional centers to adopt quality projects that contribute to empowering national cadres and building resilient communities capable of accommodating the aspirations of returnees from displacement and asylum and meeting their humanitarian needs.
The ambassador concluded her efforts by meeting with the leadership of the Sahel and Horn of Africa region at the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation, as well as a gathering of investors and prominent business representatives in Berlin. The meetings have amplified opportunities for economic and investment cooperation in infrastructure, as representatives of German companies have expressed a growing desire to channel significant investments into renewable energy projects and cooperate with humanitarian organizations to strengthen supply lines and development support.
