The Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Professor Esmat Qureshi, announced that the indicative area of the agricultural season 2026 amounted to about 31 million acres nationwide, stressing the government's intention to rehabilitate the damaged agricultural infrastructure and expand the modernization of the agricultural sector.

The announcement came during a meeting in Sennar state, which included government officials and bankers, where they discussed arrangements for financing the agricultural season and providing production inputs, as well as supporting small farmers and promoting the use of modern technologies and agricultural insurance.
