The Sudanese Minister of Justice, Dr. Abdullah Mohamed Derf, participated in the seventy-sixth session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice, held in the Egyptian capital Cairo, within the framework of Sudan's membership in the Council's Troika.

The Sudanese delegation included Ambassador Abdul Azim Mohammed Al-Sadiq Al-Karuri, Director of the Arab League Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Osman Mohammed Idris, Director of the Office of the Minister of Justice, in addition to the representative of the Permanent Delegation of Sudan to the League of Arab States, Ms. Bassel Montasser Mohammed.

The meeting discussed a number of legal and legislative issues of common interest, in the framework of efforts to develop Arab judicial work and enhance cooperation among Member States.

On the sidelines of the meetings, the Sudanese Minister of Justice held a meeting with his Saudi counterpart, Sheikh Dr. Walid bin Mohammed Al-Samaani, on ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries in the legal and judicial fields.

The talks focused on exchanging experiences and developing training and capacity-building programs, in addition to strengthening joint coordination in the fight against organized crime, which contributes to supporting the common interests of the two countries and developing institutional cooperation between judicial agencies.

The participation of Sudan in this session comes within the framework of supporting joint Arab action and the development of the Arab legal system, as well as the preparation of future regional entitlements, especially the Conference of the States Parties to the Arab Convention against Corruption, which is scheduled to be held in the Qatari capital Doha next September.
