Bad weather delays a number of flights to Port Sudan
Unstable weather conditions delayed the departure of a number of flights to Port Sudan on Monday, causing some flights to be rescheduled and operational procedures to meet air safety requirements.
Departure screens at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport showed a number of flights to Port Sudan were still waiting, including Tarco Flight 3T203, which remained in “Boarding” status pending the completion of departure procedures.
Maritime sources reported that the delay was due to weather conditions that affected air traffic in the flight path, as the competent authorities and airlines preferred to adhere to safety procedures until the weather conditions improved to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
Airlines operating on the Sudanese route confirmed that they will continue to monitor the situation and notify passengers of any updates related to departure and arrival times.
Passengers travelling to Port Sudan are advised to keep track of official announcements within airports and to contact airlines to check for updates on their flights.
