Kabbashi and the UN envoy discuss the developments of the Sudanese crisis and the results of the five-year consultations

A member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Shamsuddin Kabashi, discussed with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Sudan, Pekka Haavisto, developments in the political and security situation in the country and efforts to support the tracks of peace and stability.

The meeting, which was held in Khartoum, dealt with the results of the consultations conducted by the five-year mechanism on Sudan, which includes the African Union, IGAD, the League of Arab States, the United Nations and the European Union.

The two sides also discussed possible ways to advance efforts for a peaceful settlement and enhance coordination between regional and international parties supporting a political solution, thus contributing to addressing the current crisis and achieving stability in Sudan.
