He added that the conference in Kassala is based on the outcomes and recommendations of the first conference, stressing the importance of moving from the recommendations stage to providing spaces for innovation and creativity and enabling young people to participate actively in various fields.
For his part, the governor of Kassala, who is in charge of hosting the conference, described the event as a national platform that brings together the youth of Sudan to exchange experiences and visions on development and construction issues.
He stressed that young people represent the real wealth of the country, pointing to the need to address the challenges facing them, especially education, training and employment opportunities, as well as promoting national and moral values.
He called on the youth to play a greater role in the rehabilitation of institutions and services affected by the war, and contribute to the dissemination of a culture of peace, community coexistence and voluntary work, stressing the importance of employing social media in support of these goals and strengthen the discourse of national unity.
The conference will continue until June 9, amid expectations that the participants will come up with recommendations and initiatives aimed at enhancing the participation of youth in the process of development and reconstruction in Sudan.
