The Democratic Bloc announced on Wednesday its refusal to participate in any joint meetings with the Sudan Constituent Alliance, saying that the coalition's efforts to form a parallel government represent a threat to the unity and stability of Sudan.

Mubarak Ardol, assistant head of the Democratic Bloc, said during a press conference in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, that the bloc adheres to the unity of the country and refuses to sit with "establishment," considering that the coalition includes military parties, and accused its components of being behind violations witnessed in several areas in Sudan during the ongoing war.

Ardol stressed that the bloc is participating in the ongoing consultations with the aim of presenting a political vision to resolve the Sudanese crisis, stressing that the current conflict requires a comprehensive political solution, and once again the bloc's support for state institutions and the armed forces.

Regarding the differences that have emerged recently on participation in Addis Ababa meetings, Ardol said that what happened represents a difference of views on major political issues, stressing the continuation of consultations within the bloc to reach a unified position.

For her part, Sally Zaki, Assistant Chairman of the Democratic Bloc, called for the transfer of the Sudanese dialogue to the interior of the country and its administration under Sudanese auspices, expressing her appreciation for regional and international efforts to support the political settlement.

She also stressed the need to unify the initiatives to address the Sudanese crisis, warning of any steps that may lead to the division of the country or the establishment of parallel institutions, stressing the importance of preserving the unity and sovereignty of Sudan.
