Sudanese National Umma Party calls for an immediate end to tribal fighting between Bani Hilba and Salamat

The National Umma Party expressed its concern over the renewed tribal fighting between the Bani Hilba and Salamat tribes, which resulted in casualties, human losses and human suffering that threaten civil peace and community cohesion.

In a statement issued by its General Secretariat on Tuesday, the party called on the parties to appeal to the voice of reason and wisdom, and to stop the violence immediately, and to resort to dialogue and peaceful means to address the causes of the dispute to spare blood and save lives.

He also appealed to civil administrations, community leaders and religious figures to intervene urgently to contain the crisis and enhance reconciliation efforts and the social fabric, warning of the danger of escalating tribal conflicts in light of the widespread spread of weapons and the repercussions of war, and the consequent threat to security, stability and sustainable peace in the country.
