A U.S. official confirmed that a number of U.S. soldiers were injured as a result of rocket debris following an Iranian attack on an area in Kuwait last Wednesday.
According to the official, the injuries occurred after the missile was intercepted, as parts of the debris fell within a military range that includes US forces, injuring a number of soldiers and causing limited damage.
US authorities have not yet disclosed the exact number of casualties or the nature of the injuries in detail, while preliminary information has indicated that they are not classified as critical injuries.
The incident comes in the context of military tensions in the region over the past days, amid continued US follow-up to the repercussions of Iranian missile attacks on military sites and bases deployed in the Gulf region.
