The health authorities in the Nile state announced the registration of 10 new cases of dengue fever during the past 24 hours, without detecting any new deaths, bringing the total cases recorded since the beginning of 2026 to 8,452 cases, including 15 deaths.

According to the epidemiological report issued by the Ministry of Health, the new infections were distributed among a number of localities in the state, where six cases were recorded in the locality of Al-Damer, and three cases in the locality of Al-Matam, while one case was observed in the city of Atbara, while the locality of Shendi did not record any new infections during the same period.

Health authorities continue to implement control and awareness programs to curb the spread of the disease, amid fears of continued transmission by the rainy season and the existence of environments suitable for breeding mosquitoes carrying the virus.

Health authorities stressed that the response efforts focus on preventive interventions, monitoring cases and enhancing community awareness, stressing that combating mosquito breeding hotspots is one of the most important measures to reduce the spread of dengue fever and reduce infection rates.
