The Sudanese Council of Ministers, during its periodic meeting in the capital Khartoum headed by Kamel Idris, directed the disbursement of an incentive for teachers, which was approved earlier, in the framework of discussions focused on the issues of living and basic services and the stability of the situation in the capital.
The meeting discussed the files of electricity and water and the improvement of services, as part of what the government described as the efforts of the "government of hope" to address the repercussions of the last phase and facilitate arrangements for the voluntary return of citizens to Khartoum.
The Council began its session by congratulating the Sudanese on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, before listening to diplomatic and economic reports on a number of visits and foreign agreements.
Foreign Minister Muhyiddin Salem gave a briefing on his visit to Azerbaijan, while the Minister of Minerals reviewed the results of the joint economic summit with Turkey and the agreements signed between the two sides.
Culture and Information Minister Khalid al-Isir presented a report on the prime minister’s tour to the Vatican and Britain, while the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers Ali Mohamed Ali announced the completion of the arrangements for the “Forum of Strategic Hope”.
On the legislative side, the Council discussed the draft law of the Council for the Regulation of Commercial Mediation for the year 2026, submitted by the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Counselor Mohammed Nour, where the Council stressed the importance of the law in supporting public revenues, with the recommendation to be subject to further study and discussion.
The Minister of Interior also reviewed the report of autumn last year and the plan to prepare for the autumn of 2026, amid praise from the Council for the efforts of the civil defense forces in dealing with disasters and seasonal emergencies.
The government stressed that these decisions are part of efforts to achieve a balance between external movements and strengthening economic partnerships, and between addressing the internal files related to basic services and improving the conditions of citizens and creating a suitable environment for returnees to the capital.
