Interpol issued a statement against Hamdan Dagalo, brother of the commander of the Rapid Support Militia, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hemeti”, about a month after the adoption of the UN Security Council resolution to impose sanctions on him as part of the measures of resolution 1591 on Sudan.

According to reports, the measures included imposing an international travel ban on lawmaker Hamdan Dagalo, freezing assets and funds, and preventing the supply or support of weapons, military equipment or any assistance related to military activity.

The move comes as part of international moves to tighten restrictions on individuals and entities linked to the Sudanese conflict, amid mounting political and security pressures linked to the situation in the country.
