The participants stressed that the initiative, which is entitled “Social communication and enhancing knowledge of the heritage and civilizations of Sudan”, seeks to support the values of coexistence and rapprochement between the components of Sudanese society in light of the challenges facing the country.

For his part, the governor of South Darfur, Bashir Mursal, announced the start of the executive programs of the initiative from the northern state, in a move he said reflects the historical links between the different regions of Sudan, and supports efforts to combat racism and consolidate peaceful coexistence.

The Secretary-General of the initiative, Dr. Tariq Abdullah, explained that the field activities will include programs to support the centers of shelter for the displaced and alleviate the humanitarian burden, in addition to organizing cultural and intellectual events to promote community dialogue.

The initiative also revealed plans to organize visits to a number of states in the country, including eastern Sudan, as well as the implementation of symbolic projects that strengthen national ties and celebrate Sudanese cultural diversity.
