The Sudanese Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Adam Ahmed, issued a decision to re-establish the Board of Directors of the Fund to Support Youth and Sports Activities, in a move aimed at revitalizing the sports sector and enhancing youth support programs in the country.
Under Ministerial Resolution No. 41 of 2026, the previous composition of the Board of Directors of the Fund was abolished and Dr. Hassan Mohammed Abdullah Al-Zaruq was appointed Chairman of the Board, while Engineer Ezzedine Haj Hassan was named as the Director-Rapporteur, provided that the decision will enter into force immediately after its issuance.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports said that the new council will develop and implement policies to support youth and sports activities in line with the general policies of the state, as well as supervise the development of infrastructure and provide technical and logistical needs of the two sectors.
The Council’s mandate also includes encouraging investment in sports and expanding cooperation with relevant regional and international organizations and bodies to support the development of the youth and sports sectors at the national level.
The decision is based on the provisions of the Youth and Sports Support Act of 2002.
