▁Uncovered Iran’s Fars news agency revealed details it said were related to Washington’s response to the proposed agreement between the United States and Iran, including five key conditions described as representing the core of the US position at the current stage of negotiations.
According to the agency, Washington stipulated not to pay any financial compensation to Iran within any possible understanding, as well as refusing to release even 25% of Iranian assets frozen abroad.
The conditions also included, according to the report, a demand for Iran to deliver about 400 kilograms of enriched Iranian uranium, under arrangements related to the nuclear program and international control mechanisms.
The U.S. side also stipulated that only one set of Iranian nuclear facilities would remain operational, meaning that nuclear activity would be reduced to a limited extent and under tight control arrangements.
In what the agency described as the “most politically sensitive” item, Washington linked any cessation of war or de-escalation in “all arenas” to the progress of the negotiation process, a reference to the intertwined regional files linked to Iran and its allies in the region.
There has been no official confirmation from Washington regarding the Fars news agency, while the political and diplomatic community continues to follow the path of negotiations amid rising regional and international tensions related to the Iranian nuclear file.
