The Chinese philosopher Confucius said:

“Wisdom does not mean absence of disagreement, but the ability to manage disagreement without ruin.”

▁Wise. The Chinese sage Sun Tzu says in the philosophy of conflict management:

“The greatest victories are those that are won without the earth being burned.”

The Greek philosopher Aristotle said, “Politics is not the making of animosities, but the art of protecting interests.”

▁Day In the ancient Sudanese wisdom, Sheikh Farah Wad Tktuk used to say: “Absolutely the ropes are cut all... the day will fall when those who lift up will fall.”

He also said, “The fire that you know is better than the fire of ignorance.”

This ancient rule, despite the different times, languages and environments, almost meets one meaning: that relations between people and states are not managed by anger alone, and are not built on permanent estrangement, but on the understanding of interests, knowledge of the limits of power, and the ability to protect nations without closing the doors of wisdom.

Therefore, any talk about dialogue between Sudan and the UAE should be read from a broader angle of daily political debate, because relations between countries are not measured by a moment of transient tension, but measured by their ability to continue, manage differences, and protect common interests.

Sudan Sudan and the United Arab Emirates have a long history of humanitarian, social and economic interaction; Thousands of Sudanese have worked and contributed to educational, administrative, engineering, judicial and health institutions within the UAE since its early years, and the UAE has remained an important stop for Sudanese in trade, work, investment and life.

So the real question today is not: is there a dialogue?

Q: How does this dialogue work? On what grounds do relations become a balanced partnership that preserves the interests of all and respects the sovereignty of States and the privacy of peoples?

Scene 1: Politics is not management of emotions

International relations are not governed by the logic of love and hatred, but by the logic of interests, balances and stability.

Countries are talking because they are looking for security, economy, investment opportunities, and regional stability, and they are always trying to avoid reaching the stages of conflict that drains everyone.

Therefore, the dialogue between Sudan and the UAE – or between any two Arab countries – should not be seen as a concession or victory for one party over another, but as an attempt to manage common interests in a rational and balanced manner.

The entire region is undergoing major political, economic, and security transformations, and the need to build understandings is more important than ever.

▁Scene Scene 2: Why are the capitals moving quietly?

▁A lot. Many of the major files start through quiet channels and unannounced meetings before later turning into clear understandings or declared paths of cooperation.

Any diplomatic moves or meetings between Khartoum and Abu Dhabi – whether directly, through intermediaries, or in other capitals – should therefore be seen as a natural part of attempts to reorder relations and discuss common interests.

Politics is not only rhetoric, but also careful management of distances between countries, and a constant attempt to build points of convergence even under variations.

Because of its geographical location and historical weight, Sudan remains a pivotal country in the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa, while the UAE has become an influential economic and investment player in the region, which makes dialogue and understanding between the two parties natural within the calculations of regional interests.

▁Scene Scene 3: Common interests are the basis

States do not base their relations on slogans alone, but on mutual interests.

Sudan has huge potential in agriculture, ports, natural resources and geographical location, and the UAE has extensive economic, investment and logistical experiences, which opens the door to great cooperation opportunities if relations are managed in a balanced manner that respects the sovereignty of countries and the interests of peoples.

In our view, any healthy relationship between the two countries must be based on several clear principles: respect for national sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, promotion of common economic interests, and building partnerships that achieve stability and development.

▁Because... The peoples are not governed by the logic of permanent polarization, because regional stability needs bridges of communication and not the accumulation of rupture.

▁Ring. Conclusion

Relations between Sudan and the UAE are greater than a fleeting political moment, and deeper than a temporary tug-of-war.

▁There. There is a long legacy of respect, human interaction and economic cooperation between the two peoples, and this legacy can be built upon positively if there is political will and a balanced vision.

In our view, the next stage needs a rational discourse that focuses on common interests, development, stability and building balanced relations that preserve Sudan's sovereignty while opening doors for cooperation and beneficial regional partnerships.

▁That. Strong countries are not those with frequent adversaries, but those who know how to manage their interests and maintain the balance of their relations without losing their national decision or their place among nations.
