The city of Port Sudan witnessed an official and social celebration in honor of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Sudan, Ali bin Hassan Jafar, on the occasion of the end of his term in the country, during a dinner hosted by the Director General of the Sudanese Maritime Ports Authority, Engineer Gilani Mohammed Gilani, in the presence of the Governor of the Red Sea State Lieutenant General Mustafa Mohammed Nour, and the Commander of the Navy, Lieutenant General Bahri Mahjoub Bushra, as well as a number of official leaders, community dignitaries and symbols of the Civil Administration.
During his speech, Al-Wali praised the great role played by the Kingdom in supporting Sudan at various levels, praising the efforts exerted by the ambassador throughout his tenure in strengthening bilateral relations and launching humanitarian and development initiatives and supporting vital projects and services in the state, especially the port sectors and related services.
For his part, the Director of Ports expressed his appreciation for the Saudi positions towards Sudan, praising what he described as the Kingdom's growing role in supporting stability and development, and the efforts led by the ambassador in opening wider horizons for joint cooperation, especially in the fields of maritime transport and ports, and expressed his aspiration to develop technical partnerships and integration between Sudanese ports and Jeddah Islamic Port, which will contribute to the modernization and development of the Sudanese port sector during the next phase.
For his part, the Ambassador expressed his deep appreciation for the hospitality he found from the people of Sudan in general and eastern Sudan in particular, stressing that the Red Sea has remained throughout history a space of communication and love between the two brotherly peoples, and that the relations between the Kingdom and Sudan are greater than the borders of geography, and deeper than the transient interests, pointing out that the human and historical ties between the two peoples will remain the basis for further cooperation and rapprochement in the future.
The event witnessed a friendly atmosphere, where the attendees expressed their appreciation for the role played by the ambassador during his time in Sudan, wishing him success in his future duties and the Sudanese-Saudi relations further development and prosperity.
