The Sudanese delegation was headed by Ali Khadr Ali, Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, with the participation of representatives of the Sudanese General Intelligence Service, the Central Bank of Sudan and the Sudanese Financial Information Unit.
The meetings will discuss a number of issues related to enhancing the effectiveness of the anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism and counter-proliferation regimes, as well as developing mechanisms for cooperation and exchange of information among the member states and following up on the mutual assessments of the member states in the third round.
The meetings also examine the extent to which Member States adhere to the international standards issued by the Financial Action Task Force on Financial Crimes.
The participants said that Sudan’s presence comes within the framework of its efforts to develop the national system to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, and prepare for the mutual evaluation process expected during the period between 2030 and 2033, in line with international standards and practices, in light of the challenges associated with financial crimes and emerging risks in the financial sector.
