Dilling – OnePress
The Sudanese Doctors Network announced that six civilians were killed and 15 others were injured, including women and humanitarian volunteers, as a result of artillery shelling targeting the city of Al-Dalang in South Kordofan state.
The network said in a statement that the shelling was attributed to the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North, explaining that the attack affected vital and densely populated areas, including the vicinity of the large market and the general situation in the city.
The statement added that the victims included volunteers who were working to prepare food for the displaced, pointing out that the bombing directly targeted civilian gatherings, which exacerbated the humanitarian situation in the city.
The network warned of the deterioration of health conditions in the Dilling, in light of the acute shortage of medicines and medical supplies, and the difficulty of access to health facilities due to the lack of safe paths.
The continued bombardment has caused new waves of displacement and put thousands of civilians under immediate threat, amid fears that the remaining hospitals and health facilities will cease to function.
The Sudan Doctors Network called on the international community and human rights organizations to urgently intervene to stop targeting civilian areas and work to open safe corridors to deliver humanitarian and medical aid to those affected inside the city.
