The Democratic Alliance for Social Justice, through its President Mubarak Ardol, accused the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North of committing what he described as “human massacres” against civilians in the city of Kauda and its surroundings in South Kordofan state.

Ardoul said in a statement that residents of Kauda and neighboring areas have been subjected for more than two weeks to “organized military attacks” by SPLM-N forces, pointing to “documented reports” that civilians have been killed, homes, shops and houses of worship have been burned and property looted.

He added that the popular movement “denied” to the Euro communities in the region, despite embracing the movement and its leaders for decades, saying that what is happening in Kauda “is a disgrace in the honor of the struggle.”

Ardol blamed the events on the leadership of the movement, headed by Abdul Aziz al-Hilu, along with a number of military and political leaders of the movement, accusing them of direct responsibility or "silence" towards what he described as crimes.

He also expressed his solidarity with those affected and the families of the dead and wounded, stressing his support for those he described as "defenders themselves and their families" in Kauda and its villages.
