The Ministry of Urban Planning in the state of Jazira announced a new plan to allocate “Tok Tok” vehicles equipped with maintenance equipment and technical teams, in order to intervene quickly to repair the breakdowns and breaks of water networks in all localities in the state.
The ministry said in a statement that these vehicles will be used within a field technical response system to address the emergency breakdowns in the lines of the Authority, in order to improve the efficiency of services and reduce the response time in the water sector.
The vehicles themselves will also be used for off-the-shelf collections, as part of measures to expand collection channels and boost local revenues.
According to the ministry, the total cost of the project is about 285.7 million Sudanese pounds, without giving further details on the stages of implementation or sources of funding.
