The Kuwait Patient Support Fund (KPAF) announced the provision of health and treatment services to more than 27,000 beneficiaries in Sudan in April as part of its efforts to support the health sector amid humanitarian challenges and conditions imposed by the ongoing conflict in the country.

The number of beneficiaries of medical services amounted to 27,449 people, including the services of consultants, specialists and general clinics, as well as laboratory tests, pharmacy services and basic health care.

The department added that the services extended to dental treatment, hospitalization, intensive care, intermediate care, nurseries and emergencies, as well as the implementation of health and community initiatives in a number of Sudanese states.

The Director of the Department of Treatment Institutions, Khaled Mahjoub, stressed the regularity of work within the institutions of the Fund, pointing to the activation of a system of periodic supervision to improve performance and raise the quality of health services provided to citizens.

For his part, the Executive Director of the Fund, Abdul Majid Fadlallah, said that the therapeutic institutions of the Fund are witnessing the development of infrastructure and medical services, pointing to their role in providing health care to war-affected areas and areas away from service centers.

The Fund's health institutions are deployed in several Sudanese states, including Al Muzaini Specialized Children's Hospital and Al Obeid Specialized Children's Hospital, in addition to specialized health centers in several states in the country.
