A field commander defected from the Rapid Support Militia and joined the Sudanese army in North Kordofan

Sudanese military sources announced the defection of a field commander of the "rapid support" militia in North Kordofan state and his joining the Sudanese army in the city of El Obeid, in a new development that reflects the continued rifts within the ranks of the rebel forces, according to the sources.

The sources said that the field commander, known as “Bashara,” announced his withdrawal from the “rapid support” forces and joined the 5th Infantry Division, accompanied by 15 combat vehicles with all their crews and military equipment.

This comes after a recent speech by the commander of the "rapid support" Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, at a time when military sources loyal to the army that the defections and losses on the ground within the ranks of the rebel forces are witnessing a continuous escalation in several areas of the country.
