CARE Sudan has completed the registration of 12,318 families most affected by armed conflict in the states of South Darfur, East Darfur, Gedaref and Kassala as part of a large-scale humanitarian aid program targeting vulnerable and war-affected families.
The operation paves the way for multi-purpose cash assistance supported by the Sudan Humanitarian Fund, including three payments aimed at helping families meet their basic needs, including food, health care and education.
Priority will be given to female-headed households, people with disabilities and those most at risk, as part of efforts to strengthen humanitarian protection and scale up response to those most in need in conflict areas.
Cash assistance is one of the most flexible and effective forms of humanitarian support, giving affected families the ability to prioritize and meet their immediate needs according to the living conditions they face.
